Kaohsiung Emerges as an International Diving Training Hub! Taiwan and Poland Sign Sports Cooperation MOU

Recently, the city of Kaohsiung welcomed the Polish diving team for a several-week training camp, enhancing international sports exchanges and showcasing the city’s potential as a global diving training center. During this training, Kaohsiung Mayor Hou Tzun-yao witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on sports cooperation between Taiwan and Poland, marking a new chapter in bilateral sports relations.

Mayor Hou emphasized that the arrival of the Polish diving team, amidst growing global interest in the sport, would significantly enhance Kaohsiung’s international visibility. He also highlighted that such international sports activities could not only promote cultural exchanges but also lay a solid foundation for the city’s future sports development.

The Polish team’s coach stated at the signing ceremony that the choice of Kaohsiung as a training location was due to its excellent facilities and favorable climate. He noted that the training would focus on improving the athletes' technical skills and mental resilience, hoping for strong performances in upcoming international competitions.

Furthermore, both parties plan to expand their exchanges and cooperation in the coming months beyond training, including athlete exchanges. The Polish athletes will also have opportunities to learn about Taiwanese culture and customs, further deepening the friendship between the two nations.

The visit of the Polish diving team undoubtedly injects new energy into the sports development of Kaohsiung and strengthens its position as an international sports city. With increasing numbers of international teams choosing Kaohsiung for training, the city is poised to become an important sports hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
